Many countries and human rights organizations have made efforts for decades for the worldwide abolition of the death penalty. In accordance with the international practice and the reality of China, although it is not the time to completely abolish the death penalty in China, the government and the jurists exert themselves to promote and support the abolition of death penalty. The author attempts from the legal perspectives to give the methods about how to step by step eliminate the death penalty in china, namely, solving the problems of the abolition of death penalty in economic crimes, corruption and bribery, drug offences, violent crimes etc. The goal is to affirm the principle of justice with mercy, to consolidate the respect of life and to protect human rights.
