This book describes the phenomenon of incorporation in the German word-formation. It gives its definition and typology, with many examples of their contemporary use. Whereas the incorporation in the linguistic literature is often described very wide, in this work it is understood in the narrow meaning of the incorporation-mechanism. The mechanism has to be seen as a separate word-formation-structure, implemented by many German present-day word-formations. It consists of three parts M1, M2 and M3, morphemes or words, which, incorporated in each other, create one word. Its description depends on the predicate-argument-structure of the M2-element, verb or noun, where one of their arguments is incorporated on the left side of the output-word. In such way the whole predicate-argument-structure of the M2-element can be seen on the text-surface. The word-formation-structure of the incorporations is productive in the preset-day-German, and it produces concise words, comprising a wide meaning in a short form in various parts of communication. Besides, one may notice various ideas of the word-producer used in the incorporations.
