The essential elements of Industrial Controlling are planning, steering and monitoring of procurement, production and logistics. Selected issues of this sophisticated topic are intensively discussed in this book from both a research and a practice point of view.
The first of the three components of Industrial Controlling deals with planning und steering of logistics services. More precisely it elaborates questions of transport planning, maintenance and provision planning for electronically available services.
The second element is dedicated to planning and steering of production and logistics investments. Here particularly investments in management of technology, innovation, risk and maintenance are analyzed.
Subject of the third component is the integration of sustainability into planning of procurement and production. The focus is especially on how to integrate ecological aspects into a procurement portfolio, product lifecycle costing and global sourcing.
The individual contributions of all three components of Industrial Controlling follow a common structure: beginning with a practice-oriented presentation of a problem, there will be a systematically explained selection of an instrument, which provides a theoretically sophisticated as well as a practically manageable solution of the problem. In this respect this book addresses both formally interested scientists as well as practitioners with key questions.
