About this book deutschenglish
The only German-Ukrainian municipal know-how partnership is described in the areas of energy efficiency and sustainability. At the same time, Delitzsch has been awarded in technical expertise with the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Prize, the German Sustainability Award, the European Energy Award and the Great Prize for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises.
The Saxon city of Delitzsch and other project partners in the infrastructural and energetic rehabilitation of public facilities lead and support exemplary the Ukrainian city of Schowkwa. Within the framework of the energy supply, both cities fulfill the important task of ensuring a supply of the population on demand at the local level as a trans- former of electricity and gas and partly also as heat and power producers. The municipalities are trying to stimulate the consumption behavior of companies, citizens and public administration through project funding and consultancy.
The focus of the strategic work of the city of Schowkwa lies in the area of infrastructural and energetic rehabilitation of public facilities such as kindergartens and schools. As part of the partnership, the city of Delitzsch supports these development projects in the planning and practical solution finding. In both cities, the civic engagement for energy-efficient projects and energy and economic cycles should be developed. The focus is on raising the awareness of political leaders and the population as well as the networking of relevant actors. The scientific research supports the understanding of sustainable development in both municipalities.
The project contributes to security of supply, environmental and climate compatibility and economic efficiency. This is an example of exemplary European cooperation in which the global challenges of climate change, the use of energy and raw material resources and the sustainable action with solutions are shown.
