About this book deutschenglish
The study analyses the period between 1832 till 1848 focussing Young Germany, disciples of Hegel and political literature.
The main question is, if there exists a uniform opposition towards the restauration of Vienna. Main point are the tragedies of Grabbe, Büchner and Hebbel and essays of Heine, supported by the lyrics of Werrth, Herwegh, Freiligrath, Hoffmann and Heine and the philosophy of Feuerbach, Stirner and Marx. Historical events like festivity of Hambach, crisis of the Rhein, revolutin of the weaver or hunger revolts form the historical context.
The rivality among Heine and Börne or Heine and Herwegh and many other protagonists like Karl Gutzkow or Karl Marx complete the comparative literature and allows a synopsis of political ideals or engagement in the time of Vormärz.
