Inclusion? Yes! – But how?
To enable joint learning of children with and without special needs, is claim and goal of many innovative schools. Not rare, however, teachers are asking whether their inclusive education is successful. How do I meet the needs of all children? Do I neglect powerful students? How do I find out in advance which children will show special needs? What do I do when children do not have age-appropriate language development, when they permanently disturb the instruction, or if they take much longer to learn reading, to writing and mathematics?
This training series allows successful teacher training as a preparation for inclusive primary education. It contains units, which include the technical fundamentals of an already successfully implemented inclusive schooling concept: the "Rügen Inclusion Model (RIM)". The aim of the RIM and the training series is a high quality, inclusive instruction and intervention for children with special needs concerning written language acquisition and mathematics as well as in cognitive, linguistic, emotional and social areas.
In the four present manuals you can find fully prepared training units with many proposals for materials and methods.
Any unit contains details on the target duration, literature suggestions as well as systematically, didactically and methodically worked up contents and materials. Volume 1 is about general foundations for the implementation of an inclusive primary school.
Training units about teaching and promotion in the areas of written language acquisition and mathematics can be found in Volume 2. Volume 3 and 4, respectively, contain the basics regarding the promotion in the areas of emotional and social development and speech development. All together this training series forms the basis for a differentiated exchange of essential elements and methods that build the foundation of successful inclusive schooling.
