Mastery of several foreign languages is taken for granted nowadays. The pace of life is very fast and every day you have to deal with new challenges in all areas of life and work. Especially in the time of the pandemic, digitization gained in importance - especially in the context of teaching. Foreign language teaching must also adapt to the new trends - the frequent use of new, modern media, digitization, the increased use of information and communication technologies, etc. The aim of the monograph Possible uses of podcasts in DaF lessons in listening comprehension and grammar training is to show that the podcast, as one of the new media that is freely accessible to the general public, is an opportunity to make DaF lessons more modern and attractive while improving both the communicative language skills of listening comprehension and the grammatical and lexical competence of the learners. The authors deal more closely with the linguistic skill of listening comprehension and with grammar and its role within the framework of the different methods of foreign language teaching. They introduce the podcast, pointing out its features, advantages and possible uses in the context of DaF lessons. In addition, they also list the results of their own investigations, which they carried out as part of the DaF lessons, in order to check whether and to what extent the podcast can be used in relation to listening comprehension and grammar in the classroom. Finally, suggestions and open questions are formulated that are suitable as topics for further investigations. The monograph is intended as inspiration. It is designed to help develop language skills and competencies. The monograph presents the work with sources (podcast), which are freely available at any time and are authentic, since they are not primarily intended for foreign language teaching, but for everyday life.
