The anthology deals with the problem of interlingual and intercultural communication. It presents the results of studies that link German with Polish and German and/or Polish with other languages such as English, Finnish, French, Swedish, Turkish or Ukrainian.

The individual contributions refer to various aspects of social and individual multilingualism, language contact, language policy and examining language use in the most diverse communicative domains. In addition, questions of foreign language didactics are addressed, which include school, university and medical-professional areas. Among the studies conducted in this area, there are also those that are contrastive or confrontational in nature, which illuminates the research problems posed in a broader perspective.
