About this book deutschenglish

The development of autonomous driving is progressing rapidly. Autonomous vehicles of „Level 5“ are already in a test phase on public roads. A detailed analysis of current national and international law (Vienna Convention on Road Traffic, UN- ECE regulations, Regulation 2018/ 858, Directive 2007/ 46) shows that a general admission to public road traffic is not yet possible at present and that the tests can be carried out by granting exemptions alone.

The thesis presents different implementation scenarios of autonomous vehicles. These scenarios have been developed from a best practice analysis with the Netherlands, Finland, Great Britain, Poland and the USA.

This is followed by legal policy considerations for the further development of the registration law de lege ferenda. Finally, thought-provoking impulses for a redesign of the registration law for autonomous vehicles of „Level 5“ were elaborated.
