The main focus is on the phenomenological disclosure of a mind of time and risk, as it has unfolded over the last three million years. The author divides progress of consciousness into three interconnected central scopes. Initiating with scented mind of Australopithecus, H. habilis, H. erectus which set off the upheaval of mind against nature this progress continued further on to the mind of an observer of hunting H. heidelbergensis and Neanderthals. Final stage of men is represented with shamanic mind which takes center stage in these studies.

Hominid evolution proceeded in permanent, but barely perceptible rhythms of slow motion in terms of transforming curiosity. Incipient by controlling instincts of a scavenger the former hominid was chasing directly animals which were to be hunted. Animal routes were explored in the changing seasons. The shaman was responsible for a final step succeeded in a parallel world of ghosts and demons. This shamanic totemism was based on two sectors: a feminine totemism (Big wife) preceded a masculine totemism (Big man).

These activities were stressing human mind to the extreme so that in the next million years “cognitive fluidity” (St. Mithen) was taking shape. That moving intelligence led to a universal adaptive radiation. Only one species of many lineages has survived in evolutionary race. Human mind of time and risk has melted with ambitions of transforming curiosity: emergence of a species which is able to reflect in the past as well as in the future, deciding on future actions accordingly.
