Foreign language teaching is nothing new these days, it has already become an integral part of the school systems of each country. Nevertheless, this phenomenon always poses new challenges, not only for learners, but also for teachers and school systems. In addition, this area is open to a wide range of researchers who deal scientifically with foreign language teaching and are looking for new and up-to-date ways, methods, means or media that can help to understand the language in different contexts and to look at it in a new way.

The anthology Current Topics in the Field of Foreign Language Teaching offers various approaches to the phenomenon of foreign language teaching or foreign language acquisition. The individual contributions are the results of research work and the pedagogical experience of the authors who work at universities and contribute to the development of the foreign language communicative competence of university students. The variety of topics in the anthology is proof that the issue of foreign language teaching is a dynamic process that allows to see foreign language teaching in different contexts. Starting with language policy, through the situation in specific countries (namely Slovakia) to various methodological and practical approaches - all this can be found in individual articles. The aim of the authors is to present their research results and to give the reader impulses so that foreign language teaching meets the requirements of today. One of the most important requirements is multilingualism. That is why many articles deal with this topic in more detail.
