The thesis´ aim consists of the idea of developing a controlling system for Architekturbüro Dr. Mertens. In present German architectural practices, such management systems, which are distributed to the profession as a whole, do not exist. In the last few years, a public discussion began about practice management, marketing, quality management, project management and controlling. Now it is possible to find some aspects in literature, professional journals and the first books. But even when they exist, complete management systems are more secrets of practice principles than open readable information.

The author wants to close this gap. On the one hand, it is necessary to develop a control system for his own practice, on the other, such a system would be helpful for the profession. Using management seminars in the GSBA-system, the author would like to translate management solutions into the language of architects. On this basis, developed as competitive tasks: strategy, marketing, operations and competitive tools: finance, human resources, informations technologies, the thesis combines thse different aspects within one complete tasks and tools matrix.
