Digital and social change is on everyone’s lips and will be even more so once the smoke from the battles against the corona pandemic has cleared. Sociology now has the chance to become the most exciting social science if it ties in with critical traditions, leads an ambitious controversy and conducts future research that engages young people with new, bold ideas. The present work is written in this spirit. Its theme is the lack of a comprehensive sociological theory of personality. Even if some lean back satisfied, satisfied with what has been achieved in the form of an “understandable system” (H. Heine) or a model of processes of socialization – composed by German professors. The aim of this publication is to address a sociological theory of personality that does not ignore the individual as an actor in digital and social change. In the action theory research conceived by the author, personality development in the process of actively shaping and changing the social environment is analyzed. The representation of social types of personality opens up a special approach to research into processes of social change and the role of social actors in it. In the form of the social type of personality, the Social, as an explanatory and prognostic fact, receives a more complex conclusiveness and clarity. The author pursues these theoretically demanding questions with a clear, argumentative and also humorous way, so that reading the script also has a certain entertainment value.
