The Phaistos Disk is a fired clay disk of 16 cm in diameter covered front and rear with unknown symbols. In professional circles, there is a widespread resignation that we will be able to wrest the secret from the disk with its unknown symbols. Why? Because the number of 45 (46) symbols is too small as that one could decipher the mysterious disk by linguistic means. Therefore, a different approach was chosen in this book. Inspired by the round disk shape of the find, and by comparison with other round disks, the suspicion arose that it might be a calendar document. The study of the symbols then corroborated this suspicion. It was found that the Discos names12 months on the front side and one special month on the back. We can, however, still not read the names of the months, but we can point to the symbol combinations that are used for the names of the12 months. And this opened for the future even the possibility to snatch another secret from the Discos: the spelling of the numbers 1 to 12.

In addition to this holistic outcome of the investigation of the Phaistos Disk, individual symbols are addressed as well. For some there is a new, improved interpretation, others are stripped of a misinterpretation. All together it is a great moment for the Phaistos Disk.
