This miscellany is the third volume in the series "Excerpts from Graz Inclusion Research". As in previous works (from 2014 and 2015), research work by students of the University of Graz will be presented. The content of this work focuses on the inclusion and participation of students with special educational needs.

The special feature of this volume is that only studies from the ATIS-STEP (Attitudes Towards Inclusive Schooling - Students, TEachers and Parents) project are presented. As part of the project, 48 inclusion classes in Styria were scientifically monitored for a period of one school year. Studies on inclusive education relevant topics, such as the impact of social learning forms on social participation, the foreign and self-image of social participation of students with and without special educational needs or self-assessed resilience, will be presented. In addition to quantitative methods, qualitative approaches were also chosen in order to provide a more detailed insight into the current situation in Austrian classes.

In the project, 721 students, their teachers and parents were surveyed with questionnaires on their attitudes towards inclusion and social participation. In order to gain a deeper insight, interviews were also conducted with selected students, parents and teachers.

An exciting access into various topics of inclusive education is offered in this volume. The articles shed light on these topics from different perspectives with different methodological approaches. The results of the contributions outline possible strengths as well as weaknesses of an inclusive education.
