The increasing momentum of "transformations" in society under the influence of the digitalization, the internationalization and the stronger networking as well as the system integration by Big Data lead to a constantly rising contest intensity and complexity of the competition in business and society.

As a microcosm in this world this also applies to companies above a certain size. For the adequate adaptation to the ongoing dynamics of change, the culture-based Balanced Scorecard (KSBC) is offered to companies as an instrument and a process for the diagnosis and design.

The corporate culture is definitely a success factor; it can have a significant positive effect on employee motivation and interpersonal trust in a company. Through the entrepreneurial Organisation of corporate culture additional success potentials can be developed and used.

In the literature there are many scientific studies on the topics of culture and corporate culture as well as on the role and importance of strategic management. The KBSC serves as a link between these different areas. It is a tool for easy visualization and control of the corporate culture.

The culture-based Balanced Scorecard includes three dimensions: corporate culture, internal culture carriers and external culture. These three dimensions form the link between normative and strategic management.

In the present research the KBSC was used to perform a culture-based company comparison in the automotive industry –based on the examples of Volkswagen and Toyota. After the pure comparison of companies, the KBSC was used as a tool to test success potentials of a company in a market, focusing on cultural features.

Therefore, it would be possible in the future to execute a mapping of the corporate culture profile with that of a potential employee.
