Experts for an apprenticeship in careers, in which few apprentices are trained, are commonly rare. When the occupation furthermore is complex or safetydriven, interested treacher or trainers that want to be acqainted with the occupation will find it problematic and complicated to tackle the task.
In this book the contents of the dual apprenticeship railway-worker/signal box (Eisenbahner/-in im Betriebsdienst/Fahrweg) are exemplarily restructured, a software for apprentices and experts is designed and a competence model is a priori designed on two sublayers for empirical survey. A special point in this work is the analysis of the complexity both the professional contents and the items. On equalizing the results of complexity the software is designed using two schemes of instructional design (DO-ID and 4C/ID). The software is exemplarily made up according to effective principles of instructional design for application. Its usability is heuristically tested by experts and users. A result nearby is, that the score of an intermediate eaxamination is no main criteria for reducing the duration of the apprenticeship.
