About this book deutschenglish
The successful execution of strategies remains one of the major challenges in the management of companies. Managers are regularly measured at a successful execution rather than their ability to formulate impressive strategies. Why then is there such a major difference between strategic objectives and actual performance? As a first step in search for distinctive features of a successful strategy execution, contributions to journals, books and other studies from the last 20 years are analyzed. The key elements regarding a successful strategy execution contained within these papers are varied, heterogeneous and complex. In order to separate the important from less important aspects, 29 senior executives of private health insurance companies are interviewed about their personal appraisal. Resulting from this, from 53 substantive key success factors those 18 can be derived, which are labeled relevant as regards the strategy execution. In addition, those key success factors are identified that in practice suggest the largest optimization potential. Furthermore, the expert judgment allows for a sequential arrangement of essential execution tasks within the strategic management process. The findings regarding the substantive key success factors as well as the sequential arrangement are then brought together in a symbiotic design concept for a successful strategy execution. Finally and to sum up, ten specific recommendations for the management practice are formulated.Link des Autors
