Presently historical, genealogical research projects seem to boom. This may not be surprising, particularly, as in recent years (supported by digitization projects including parish registers) many relevant documents were made available to the public all over the world. Such digitization projects are often followed by databases.
The publication in hand is based on (social-)historical and ethnological research, stretching back more than 450 years. Although genealogical research form the ‘central theme’ of this publication, it also represents a historical sketch of the southern regions of “Wein- und Waldviertel” in Lower Austria. Parish registers and historical documents form the majority of sources; secondarily manorial records, and narrative material. Although the publication – due to the ‘name-line’ researched – may appear very specific, it is – due to its design – general enough to be reconstructed as to methodological design and exploration of the records. In addition, the reader will roam through a few hundred years of Austrian social history and the related aspects such as ethnological legends, proverbs, songs … Target group: those interested in social history, ethnology and genealogy. The readers may be encouraged not only to compile the results of their own research, but present them in an acceptable format.Möchten Sie Ihre wissenschaftliche Arbeit publizieren?
