This work is an investigation into the moral quality and relatedproblems of „Trial Marriage? among young Nigerians of today, with particular reference to the Igala and Catholic Christians in general.
In this work, the author identifies the different problems that prevent many Catholic Christians from marrying in the Church after their traditional marriage and articulates what can be done to help such people to regularise their marriage in order to fully enjoy or participate actively and meaningfully in the life of the Church.
It is our hope that this detailed research carried out on „Trial Marriage? in Nigeria and with particular reference to Igalaland will go along way to serve not only as a valuable source for further academic research on this crucial topic, but will also re-awaken the consciousness of Pastors and Christian faithful to their responsibility in promoting and safeguarding the values and dignity of Christian marriage.
