Above all, the pastoral guide for the reception of infant Baptism begins before Baptism and continues after the reception of Baptism. It is a lifelong journey of pasturing souls. The parish priest, parish community, parents, and godparents have unique roles in infant Baptism. Therefore, the practice of administering infant Baptism in the Church in Igboland without a corresponding baptismal family pastoral is a theological-pastoral desideratum and needs to be reconsidered.
