This volume contains the East and West Slavic studies’ contributions to the 18th Conference of the Young Forum of Slavic Literary Studies (JFSL), held in the autumn of 2022 at the Department of Slavic Studies at the University of Graz, Austria. The collection brings together papers by predoctoral and postdoctoral researchers from various European universities, written in German, English, Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian or Polish.

The research paradigms and methods include narratology and theory of literary genres, translational studies, intermediality and film studies, gender and queer studies, postcolonial studies, and the concepts of cultural translation and transculturality. The variety of methodological approaches and covered literary epochs and topics reflects the plurality and diversity of contemporary Slavic studies on the international scale.

The papers contribute to the academic study of various aspects of East and West Slavic cultures and diverse topics from Polish, Ukrainian and Russian literature, as well as their transfer to other non-European cultures and literatures.
