About this book deutschenglish

The world faces a system’s feedback loop for its exaggerations caused by greed. Here we also count the over-tourism, which presents “an excessive number of tourists at a specific destination that can result in negative impacts of all types on the community involved”. The pandemic stopped all tourism actions and actors: low-cost carriers, tourists, and cruisers. During this time of “tourism contemplation”, the decision-makers in tourism had an opportunity to think of the future of tourism. Trends show that smaller groups of tourists, who live like locals in tourism destinations, help the place and its surroundings to maintain a balanced state, which requires a shift of thinking, which must adopt all involved in the tourism business, especially the decision-makers and strategy makers. This shift of thinking sees tourism as a whole and not just as one part of it, namely the number of tourists and financial profits. Instead of generating crowds with traveling low-cost carriers around the globe, tourism decision-makers can see the future in special interest tourism with different segments and researchers with systems methodology. Events, sports, pilgrimages, caves, and rural tourism are the segments we researched and included in the book. Some of them represent case studies. We want to suggest this book to decision-makers, managers, leaders, and traveling society to avoid the mistakes we as a civilization made in the past. One must understand the feedback loop or regulation, which always appears when we think, talk and act in a certain way. These are the challenges of the activities connected to tourism – traveling, management, and organization. The book presents tourism as a multidisciplinary phenomenon. Challenges can successfully find solutions by applying the systems methodology and methods: decision-making expert systems, DEX, AHP, systems thinking, causal loop modeling, and system dynamics. We can claim that thinking in systems is a path to future tourism.
