Zum Inhalt
This scientific research involved collection of 48 groundwater samples from 24 wells during rainy season and dry season, from 12 Local Government Area while monthly rainfall frequency data was collected and presented to validate possibility of seasonal variations in groundwater quality. These samples were collected from wells that are close to pollution sources ranging between 5-7 meters and 9 other water samples were collected as control within distance of 18-20 meters from pollution sources and each 3 samples from the 9 water samples were collected from Abia south, Abia central and Abia north senatorial district. This was to confirm if the groundwater contamination was actually from the pollution sources or not. Therefore, 57 water samples were collected and taken to government certified government laboratory for scientific analysis, to check for possible chemical and microbial contaminants in groundwater.
