about this book

deutsch | english

„Why don´t we just live?“ is a book about psychoanalysis and explains how we live and behave. In contrast to other publications which only manage to touch the surface, this outstanding book aims at an incompliant pursuit of truth.

The book’s dialectic structure presents the antithesis between necrophilia and biophilia. There is a focus on threats concerning our mental health throughout the whole work – especially on narcissism and how to overcome it.

How we succeed in leading our lives between social tensions and an indisputable will to be ourselves is shown in detail in the chapter “Mechanisms of staying alive in repulsive circumstances”. “Why don´t we just live?” stands in the tradition of Erich Fromm, Herbert Marcuse and the sociological studies of critical analysis.

The final conclusion offers possibilities and perspectives to fulfill a self-determined life of permanent growing and prospering. As life has only one meaning that really matters: to live our lives – no more, no less!
