German for Tour Guides in Vietnam is a needs analysis to develop a textbook for a group of learners who use the target language for their work, but are not living in the country of the target language. The book expresses the author’s ambition to use German as a tool to have a lasting effect on the learning autonomy, financial and intercultural scope of a Vietnamese learning group.

The book presents a complete example for the developing a job-related textbook from the motivation, fact finding, data collection and merging of these results to the partial textbook production based on the collected data which is technically simple and accessible for all German as foreign language teachers and encourages them to take part to the German as a foreign language apparatus and to actively and creatively assume their social responsibility. Because those who keep moving, not only can change their environment, but also broaden their own horizon.
